official start of FYP!

Brain Age 2.
downloaded this game and played it using my sister's Nintendo DS.
apparently, this game helps you check your brain age and will help you improve your brain and blah blah blah blah blah...

Dr Ryuta Kawashima (the guy who created this game), said that my brain needs more training and it will start to deterioate when i become 20.
like i give a damn about it...

(sorry about the bad lighting)

but as you can see from the above picture, i was playing this word puzzle thing. they give you a few letters jumbled up and running around in a circle. and you got to solve the word.
the word is supposed to be N.U.R.S.E.R.Y.
but i wanted to see what happens when i get vulgar...and they gave me a '?'.

anyway, FYP has officially started!
which means holidays are over and it's year 3.
went for the seminar in the morning, and all of us are given tons of assignments to complete. so much to do, with so little time. and everything was given at one shot. and this is still the beginning.
for a moment, i wished that i was doing my attachment first. but then, everyone has to go through this.
have to finish about 3 assignments like next week! and there's like not much time at all.
plus, there's Song & Dance practises too.
i need to plan well, for the very first time.

well, i'm off to start on my assignments, plus do abit of practising for dance.
wish me luck, people!

locking!!

just had dance practise yesterday and today. so shiok, after exams next day got dance.
doing locking for sophan's showcase item. first time learning locking and also going to perform.
exciting, but then very scary and fierce.
because the music is damn fast! then like i cannot keep up with the music. maybe it's because not used to it yet.
but i love the opening, damn grand!!
but at least today was better than yesterday, can remember steps. yesterday after practise, i couldn't remember much at all, only bits and pieces of the choreo.
no choice! got to train, practise and chiong! must jia you!

CAN YOU FEEL IT!!!

must practise until i can really feel it man!

exams over, and a whole new busy schedule.

yes, finally! exams are over!
i can finally not touch any books or lecture notes for the time being.
i think aquaculture paper was the easiest paper.
and the 2nd easiest would be immunology. but then, i screwed up the last part of the paper because of lack of sleep. stayed up really late and had only 1 hr 30 mins of sleep. was feeling super tired and restless, especially when doing the last question of the paper. this is the very first time i ever stayed up the entire night just to study for exam and slept damn little. so i hope my hard work wouldn't be wasted.

ok, anyway, had steamboat yesterday in the evening to celebrate denyse's belated birthday. belated because of exams. but her chinese birthday was on the day after her english birthday. this time round, never eat until 2 months pregnant.
so after steamboat, went to have a drink and chill. had a tequila sunrise. at first didn't really like the taste, but then, slowly start to like it. and after drinking the entire glass, felt that it tasted somewhat like dark chocolate. after chilling and drinking, all of us went home. i was super tired and i fell asleep in the bus, until i drool. slept throughout the journey, only woke up when denyse was about to alight and when the bus about to reach terminal. it's like automatic wake up.

although exams are over, but then the holiday mood is still not there. maybe it's because year 2 has ended and year 3 has already kind of started. so fast year 3 already!!!
going to be damn busy through out the year i guess. there's going to be Song & Dance practises, start of FYP, loads of talks to attend, assignments to complete, trial camp, more dance practises, FOC, even more dance practises and rehearsals, Song & Dance (the actual event itself), and so on...

a whole new busy schedule.
excited but scared at the same time.
wish me luck for the whole of year 3.

i do blog hard at the same time.

OK! Let's play 'SPOT THE SIMILARITY' game!
below are 2 pictures, look at the them carefully.
and spot the similarity!

picture no. 1: Oscar

picture no. 2: Charlie Chaplin & some little kid

spot any similarity? if you still can't spot it, try again.
don't peek at the answer.
DON'T PEEK!!!
ok, i'll tell you what's so similar about the 2 pictures.
ans: dont' you think Oscar looks like Charlie Chaplin? i really do think so. i mean, look at that black nose of his. it looks like Charlie Chaplin's moustache, right?
anyway, if you are wondering why he is wearing that cone-shaped collar...he got his balls chopped off. opps, i mean neutered. like 3 weeks ago. so he no longer has raging male hormones. and he looks damn adorable with that collar on, it's like he's a flower or something.
anyway, i am no longer home alone!!!
my mum and sis are back from australia. and they are complaining that they have gained weight. and of course, they had to get me my 'list of things to buy', while i am left at home to study.

1) havaianas!!!

2) T-shirts!!!
love this one!

i won't fear cause i don't drink beer.

backview design.

kinda like this.

i'm still so jealous that i couldn't go australia. but with these stuffs that they bought for me, i'm satisfied.
and i am kinda sad that my giordano t shirt went GG after the maid washed it...
it can still be worn, but the design screwed. and it's totally fugly.
didn't want to wash my white colored clothes yet, because there were too little white stuffs to wash.
the maid went to wash my t shirt using the washing machine at 60 degrees (intensive stain). then never flip the shirt over. then plus wash together with jeans.
but it's alright, it's $10, after discount. so i'm not too affected by it.
luckily i washed my other t shirt first, which costs like $30. if not, sure go crazy.
off to bed.

food cravings!!!

FOOD CRAVINGS!!!
suddenly i feel like eating a whole menu of good food.

小籠包!

蝦餃!

Chilli Crab!

Oatmeal Butter Prawns!

there's more...
but i shall stop here though. i see the pictures, already make my mouth water and stomach growl. buay tahan!
can't believe i'm having cravings, during exam period!
talking about exams...just 5 more days to endure.
halfway there already.
left with aquaculture and immunology.
got to chiong these 2 modules. i've got to score for the last 2 papers.
because i know i'm not gonna do that well for CCTA and MMB.
and looking back at how i was performing for immunology, i've got to chiong to maintain the standard. aiming for a B.
and i got to work extra hard for aquaculture, screwed up my practical test. so i need to do well for the final exam, at least a C would do.
can't wait for exams to be over. after exams would be really busy, but i'm looking forward to it.
FYP, Trial camp, Song & Dance!!!

irritating!

ok, so my family (minus my dad) + relatives are in MELBOURNE!
and here i am, at home, studying for exams. they are definitely having much more fun than me.
home alone!
it's now just me and my notes...

there's Oscar with me, but sorry my dear dog, it's exam time and i can't attend to you that much. i think he doesn't mind though, he should be satisfied that i feed him everyday, clear his pee and poop when he does his business, and finally, have water to drink.

anyway, my dad went back to cambodia today, after a long CNY break in singapore. and i am damn pissed with him! actually all along i get damn irritated with the things he do.

1) Not making sure that the house is clean - yes, when i got back home after my CCTA exam, i was so pissed with what i saw. ANTS ON THE LIVING ROOM TABLE! and it's definitely not me who did it, because i've always been in my room with my lecture notes for the past few days. and the only person who is forever outside in the living room, watching tv and wasting his life away when he's at home is my dad. i hate seeing ants crawling around, especially on tables! and i had to clear and wipe the table, vacuum and mop the floor, make sure there's no more ants around. i was like so tired after the exam and i have to clean up the stupid mess when i got home. i find it very inconsiderate to actually just leave the house and not make sure that the area you have been using is clean and ant-free. it's like my dad sat at the living room like for so long, and he didn't realise that there are ants on the table? that's ridiculous man. although ants are small, but they can definitely be seen.

2) Dumping a whole pile of clothes inside a basket - i don't understand why my dad can't wash his own clothes and LEARN how to use the washing machine, when he has so much free time to sit in front of the tv. it only takes a few minutes to start the washing machine running.

3) Leaving his bowls and utensils on the table after his meals - i think it's basic responsibility to at least bring your used bowls/plates/utensils to the sink, even if you don't want to wash it. the house isn't a food court/hawker centre/restaurant. and i think its damn rude to do this at other people's house too. during CNY day 3 at my aunt's place, my dad can just leave his bowl and chopsticks on the dining room and just leave his seat. my other aunt has to clear it up for him. it's f*cking disgraceful for god's sake.

4) Not helping in looking after the dog for just 1 day - yes, although the dog isn't his, but still, it's part of the family. my mum reminded my dad to help feed Oscar while we were all away in Kukup. but when we arrived back home the next day, Oscar's area was like so damn messy and his bowl was like sooooo clean (like those kind of just wash dishes that kind of clean). he didn't even bother to feed and help clear up a little bit. how selfish. feeding a dog doesn't take long, it can be done like in 30 seconds? and clearing up the pee and poop also won't take long. plus, my dog is newspaper trained and he pees on the newspaper which is placed on a pee-ing tray so that clear up would be easier.

there's more, but the thought of it can just make me boil.
the way i see him waste his time at home really pisses me off. all he does is just come back and make a mess and not make himself useful at all. and in the end, we got to clear up his mess.

whatever, i'm going to sleep.

MMB nightmare & melbourne!

i had a MMB nightmare...
it was scary, really. i dreamt that i missed the final exam and i was going to fail the module! i can't remember everything in detail but it was really scary. imagine if it really happened in real life...
omg, i don't even wanna imagine it.
and when i woke up, i was like..."wtf?!"
just hope it doesn't happen on SATURDAY! goddamnit! why saturday also must have paper?! exam after CNY still not enough is it?

and the most tragic thing is that............

MY FAMILY IS GOING TO MELBOURNE THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!

knn! and i can't go!!! because of the stuuuuuupid exams!!! i am going to be home alone lahh, studying! imagine how much fun my mum, my sister, my aunts, and my cousins are gonna have in australia...

WHY LIKE THAT PLAY PUNK WITH ME?! WHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHY???!!!

CNY!!!

i am rich! (finally...)

this is Kukup! a small town located at the south-west corner of Johor. and this interesting village is where i spent my third day of CNY (i'm not going to blog about day 1 & 2, same thing every year), with my family and relatives (maternal). my aunt has another house located in Kukup, so we all decided to have a small little holiday there.

no pictures of her house, and her house is not in the picture. this picture is where the jetty and seafood restarurants are found. the actual location of my aunt's house is somewhere inside a forest where it gets really dark at night. and i really mean dark, pitch dark. Kukup is kinda undeveloped, not much street lamps along the road, alot of houses are made of wood, no MRT, no high tech machines seen. the life in Kukup is really simple. and during the day, it's really hot. but at night, it's nice and cooling. there's hell lots of insects too. from spiders to flies to even juicy beetles. someone stepped on a beetle, and it had juice oozing out from its body, damn gross!

did i say that Kukup is famous for its seafood? haha, their seafood is damn nice and fresh. had chilli crab and steamed fish! their chilli crab is damn big, their pincers are really big, bigger than those found in singapore. and the meat is really fresh and there's alot of meat inside. their steamed fish was really nice too. the meat is fresh and tender. and they also have this coconut pudding, i don't know the name but its basically a coconut with pudding inside and the pudding is made from the coconut juice itself. damn nice! eat until damn shiok.

ok, besides food. there's one thing in Kukup that you can do but not in singapore. and that's playing with fireworks and firecrackers! the fireworks aren't those big big type that we see during big occasions in singapore. they are small ones. totally enjoyable! and i killed a beetle with some small sparkler than shoots off sparks. ok, i am bad at describing things. but it's really damn fun! saw how the beetle died, it started getting black then suddenly the body caught fire. and i learnt never to be the last one to play these stuffs, because you would have to clear them up yourself. apparently, all my relatives and cousins started to disappear into the house. and my cousin tricked me, to finish playing with those remaining. then i realised that i got tricked after sweeping up all the mess.

Kukup sure is a nice place. although the life there is simple, but it is a great place to get away from all the stress. didn't regret going there over the weekends, although exams are really round the corner. it's really refreshing!

exams are coming soon! time to study like there's no tomorrow...( ya, right. like who will do that man?)

reunion?

ok, short update before i stick my head onto immunology practical manual.

reunion dinner at grandmother's place
1 word, pathetic! to think last year's was bad enough, this year's worse. machiam everything all 'take away', except the soup. yes, my grandmother is getting old already. that's totally understandable. that's the problem when all daugther-in-laws (except my mum) can't cook. i've lived with my uncle and aunts before, and they are always eating out. but anyway, the soup was great, the best out of everything (because my grandmother cooked it).
my aunts keep saying that i am so tall. and they said that for the past 2 years! so irritating lah!
1) "joel, why you so tall?"
2) "what you eat, long beans?"
3) "you play basketball arh?"
i seriously don't know why they are so amazed with my height. now let me answer those 3 stupid questions which i keep hearing from them.

model answers to answer stupid questions from stupid people...
1) because i'm lucky and you're NOT!
2) then by eating peas, will it make you small and round?
3) go back to school please.

i think they are just jealous that my cousins are all shorter than me. HAHAHAHAHA! but i seriously think it's no big deal trying to compare height and see who is taller. i mean if you are short, then you are short. just be happy with it because you are going to stay with that height for the rest of your life. eating long beans and playing basketball will never help.
and i seriously think respecting your elders is more important than height. to my uncles and aunts...look at your sons/nephews. they seriously don't respect their elders.
eg, they don't acknowledge my mum by status, and they just say 'hi'.
it's f*cking rude can!
i mean it's basic respect to acknowlegement someone who is alot older than you by status. even if he/she isn't close to you. even if you don't like that person. and it's just damn rude to say 'hi' to the he/she.
i don't respect my uncles and aunts, but i don't see why it is so difficult to acknowledge them. afterall, they are still my uncles and aunts which is so unfortunate.

alright, whatever it is, back to immunology! and i can't wait for tomorrow, STEAMBOAT!!!

Saturday, February 02, 2008

3 course menu.

there's been a change in the menu...

monday: beef burger(bioinformatics) & FISH fillet(aquaculture pract test!)

wednesday: mouse-hroom soup?(immunology pract test)

die lah!!! there's 2 tests on monday!
bioinformatics is enough to kill, plus aquaculture? good game.
but at least there's more time to concentrate on immunology pract test on tuesday.

and there's reunion dinner at my grandmother's place tomorrow night!
less time to study.....
so not looking forward to seeing my stupid uncles, aunts and cousins.
for the first time, i would rather study at home.
